Welcome to the website of the Fresno-Yosemite Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). The Fresno Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in Fresno, California, on March 23, 1922. The organizing meeting of the Yosemite Chapter, NSDAR, was held in Clovis, California, on September 25, 1969. On December 8, 2007, these two chapters merged to become the Fresno-Yosemite Chapter, NSDAR. The Kaweah Chapter, NSDAR, merged with the Fresno-Yosemite Chapter on June 5, 2022, making us the largest chapter in California.
We meet monthly on the second Saturday, September through June. Our meetings are fun and engaging, with excellent speakers and programs. Additional special events are also scheduled throughout the year, such as Honor Flight receptions, monthly Genealogy Club meetings, the annual Veteran's Day parade, and many service projects.
Our chapter's members range in age from the 20s to the 90s and are dedicated to supporting our national, state, and community projects. Locally, these projects include providing student scholarships in California's largest DAR Good Citizen program, awarding Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) certificates and medals to students at local high schools and Fresno State, supporting veterans in our local Veterans Administration Hospital, and at Homefront, a transitional Women Veterans Shelter. We encourage you to attend a chapter meeting and see how you, too, can join us and make a difference in our community!
